Ontario Movers

There are so many choices out there and you just don’t know where to start. A word of caution to people who are searching for Ontario moving companies, if you hear or read the following, consider it as a warning bell:

  1. When the moving company gives you a quote without inspecting the items, do not sign the deal. Chances are there will be hidden costs and you will be surprised at how much more than the quote it is. Trust worthy movers will first inspect your items before they can give you a rough estimate.
  2. Some companies sub-contract their services. If they do, find out to whom they are subcontracting it to, and know more about their reputation in the market. If you agree to the sub-contract work, note that your agreement is not with the sub-contractor. In any event of claims or untoward incidences during the move, the sub-contractors are not liable to you, but the main contractor is. So make sure that this is clear from the very beginning.
  3. If they charge you based on cubic feet, hang up the phone. The volume is calculated per cubic feet and on top of that, the weight of your shipment is also calculated. This is usually done for international shipments. If the movers will refuse to explain to you how they calculate and simply insist on charging you the higher value, then stop the negotiations right there.
  4. Have everything in black and white. Read and understand the tiniest bit of clause in your contract especially those that discuss costs and claims.

In conclusion I hope you can find some good Ontario movers and Ontario moving companies.
